We are sad to report that the beautiful brick home that was once a wonderful landmark in Toano has been torn down. Efforts by the community to protect this historic building were unsuccessful, and we are heartbroken that a solution to save the Gatewood was not realized. The building was demolished by its owner on September 7, 2021. As a community, we must rally together to protect all our historic buildings and landmarks.
