Toano Historical Society has been working with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources in recent months and submitted a Preliminary Information Form for a Commercial Historic District in the Village of Toano.
On Thursday June 21st, 2018, at the DHR’s Quarterly Board meeting, the proposed historic district was reviewed and recommended eligible. A passing score is 30 points — Toano’s proposed Commerical Historic District received score of 38, which is above average. Most scores land in the 30-35 point range.
